Baby John Review

Varun Dhawan’s Baby John is more than just a film—it’s an experience that cements his position as one of Bollywood’s finest this year. The story follows Satya (Varun Dhawan), a devoted single father and police officer, whose life shatters when his young daughter, Zara, is abducted by a ruthless child trafficking ring led by a chilling antagonist (Jackie Shroff).

How the story unfolds between the past and present is commendable; it will keep you at the edge of your seat to know how Durga (Keerthy Suresh) dies in the story and Rhea (Wamiqa Gabbi) an undercover agent, gets into the story. It is worth watching with a perfect blend of emotions, action, music, and masala entertainment with a message. This movie is a complete mass family entertainer with a climax that is full of action-packed showdown and delivers a powerful message about love and resilience.

What Works:

Baby John succeeds in delivering a gripping narrative that combines humour, action, and emotional depth. The father-daughter bond between Varun Dhawan and Zara is the film’s emotional heart, creating moments that resonate with audiences. Jackie Shroff’s menacing antagonist adds gravitas to the story. Salman Khan’s cameo adds a delightful surprise, leaving fans thrilled.

What Doesn’t Work:

While the movie shines in most areas, the predictability of the storyline in some parts might deter audiences from seeking fresh twists.

Technical Analysis:

Director Kalees expertly blends Atlee’s signature grandeur with emotional depth, delivering a socially relevant narrative about child trafficking. The action choreography is top-notch, and the cinematography captures the larger-than-life essence of the story. Thaman’s background score complements the high-energy sequences, while the editing maintains a brisk pace despite occasional lags. Also, the tracks Nain Matakka, and Bandobast will make you groove.

Star Performances:

Varun Dhawan delivers a career-defining performance as Satya, perfectly embodying a loving father and a fierce protector. Zara’s portrayal of his daughter is endearing and pivotal to the film’s emotional core.

Jackie Shroff steals the show with his powerful presence, while Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi hold their own, with Wamiqa excelling in her action scenes. Rajpal Yadav adds humour, balancing the intense moments. Also, Salman Khan’s cameo at the end will light up the screen with his presence and action as Agent Bhai Jaan.

Conclusion:

Kalees has done the utmost justice to the story, as Baby John is a perfect blend of action, emotion, and entertainment, making it a mass entertainer for the entire family. Varun Dhawan shines in this larger-than-life yet emotionally grounded role, while Jackie Shroff adds layers to the story.

The makers of Jawan, Kabir Singh, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Baby John, carry forward the legacy of good cinema. The movie is produced by Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee and Jyoti Deshpande.

Baby John is presented by Jio Studios, A For Apple, Cine1 Studios is released in Cinemas Near You. A must-watch this holiday season!
